This restoration continues apace. As can be seen, its a ‘bare bones’ project, necessitating new floor pan panels and the ubiquitous sponson ribs & panels needing attention. New ribs and panels were freshly pressed from the original panels and dies that enabled them to fit first time. The restoration is being carried out by a talented specialist, with an eye to detail in the metalwork department.

This project will follow the same routine, now that the monocoque chassis is nearing completion. A comprehensive review of the existing ‘original’ parts is ongoing, with a view to ascertaining which are correct and period. It has not yet been decided by the client, as to which date in its history it is to be returned to.

The last photograph demonstrates a fully completed mock up of the floor pan, which was completed for reference purposes.
